Meditation & Prayer Groups

Early Morning Meditation and Prayer

Prayer is like a portable Sabbath, when we close our eyes for just a moment and let the mind rest in the heart. — Wayne Muller

Practicing Christian Meditation

To practice meditation is to open ourselves to the endlessly reassuring realization that our very being and the very being of everyone and everything around us is the generosity of God. For God is creating us in the present moment, loving us into being, such that our very presence in the present moment is the manifested presence of God.  We meditate that we might awaken to this unitive mystery, not just in meditation, but in every moment of our lives. –
 James Finley

Mindfulness Meditation for Leaders

“For the mindful leader getting to the cushion is how we cultivate the leadership talent of simplicity. When we literally sit down on the cushion, we stop ouraddiction to preoccupying ourselves. We gently set aside the distractibility and inner frenzy and express a willingness to experience the fresh immediacy ofour lives.” —Michael Carroll
